Angel of Light

To learn how to overcome Satan, we must learn how he has been over come in heaven. Satan was created to be perfect in every way. In Ezekiel 28 the king of Tyrus is compared to satan. We know that this king was not in Eden. So here the words speak of satan and this king.

Ezekiel 28:12-15 ... Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond,.. the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so; thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

SATAN FELL BECAUSE OF PRIDE

Isaiah 14:13-14 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Satan said "I will" in his heart, He would be like God. So iniquity was found in him, and he was cast out of heaven.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning: how art thou cut down to the ground,...
Luke 10:18 ... I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Jesus is speaking to the seventy he sent out who came back with joy when they realized the devils were subject to them when they used Jesus name. He is talking about when Heaven prevailed in the war against Satan and he was cast out.

Revelation 12:7-9 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not: neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

So will did Satan do when he is cast out of heaven? His very best to bring all of us down with him! By decieving Eve.
Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ƒye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. `Like gods', he appealed to her pride, to bring her down with him.

How will Heaven prevail once again to save the people of the earth.
Revelation 12:11-12 And they overcame him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb, (Jesus blood when he died on the cross for us), and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (we love Jesus more than our earthly things and our earthly lives.) Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Here we see that Satan has been around for quite sometime. When the Bible speaks of the beginning, it speaks of the beginning of the world. Before the beginning of the world God was there, for God has always been and God will always be. Since Satan and the angels and/or cherubim are created beings, Ezk. 28:15 God created them . Most likely God created them before He created the earth because Satan was in the garden of Eden. Now we see that Satan was cast out of heaven. And we are given a warning that he has great wrath, but we are comforted in that it is only a short time. To understand this we need to understand that to God, it is a short time because He has always been. One person put it like this. Satan is having his day. He will do the best he can to bring down as many people as he can in this short time. How is he doing this? The way he has always done it, by deceiving and lying to us. By telling us to be like God. To be as God in the sense that we are God. And that we are as good as God, even better than God, so that we do not need God. Satan said in his heart "I will", the longer people are on earth the more wrathful he will become because his time is becoming ever shorter. This is why there will be more natural disasters, more people saying "I am". There is only one "I AM" and that is God.

Exodus 3:13 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

God was telling Israel that He was the only God. The only "I AM". When we start feeling that things that we have are more important than God we are placing them above God. We are making things in the world our god. When we start feeling that we are more important than anything else, and that we are all that matters we are saying "I will" I will be like the "Most High", to the Gentiles God was known as the Most High God. The God above all other gods. Genesis 14:18.

We who believe in Jesus, realize that no matter how we try we will never be God, because as we try to walk in the way the Holy Spirit guides us we see more and more how imperfect we are. Our respect for God increases as we realize just how truly great and good he really is to us. When we have truly placed our trust in Jesus, and begin to walk in His light we begin to realize more and more just how much darkness surrounds our minds and hearts. Once we realize this we can begin to see who satan really is, and what he attempts to do in our lives.

Satan binds us in illness.
Luke 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond...

Satan lies to us, he murders us.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Satan blinds people to the knowledge of Jesus.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world (satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Satan persecutes us when we find Jesus so that we do not tell others. Mark 4:17...when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Saten is not alone he has those who help him to deceive people. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

In Matthew 24 Daniel 11:31 9:27 12:11 and Revelation 14:9 We are warned of one who will come, who will set about to deceive the whole world.

What will the final triumph over Evil be?
Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 24:30...and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet...These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Satan hinders us: I Thessalonians 2:18.
If we do not forgive one another Satan can get an advantage on us. 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 ...for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ: Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Tell Jesus your worries, your problems, give them to him, so that he can help you.
1Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (Jesus cares about you) 8 be sober, (know what is going on around you) be vigilant; (watching for Jesus return) because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (be aware of his devices, his lies, so that he does not take you unaware.)
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

If we resist the devil he will flee from us. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (when we submit to God, we are allowing him to control our lives, by guiding us through the Holy Spirit, the more we turn ourselves over to God, the less we are blinded by Satan. The more we trust in the Lord the less Satan will have to do with our minds, because we will recognize him right away! This does not particularly mean that nothing bad will ever happen in our lives. Remember we are on earth. We're not in Heaven yet. Just Heaven bound!

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
