This is Goldfield, Nevada. Located 29 miles east of Tonopah, this town has captured the imagination of many adventurers of Ghost Town lore. Although not much remains today, this town still displays quite a few buildings which tell of its heyday around the turn of the century. |

The single most noticable structure in town is the Goldfield Hotel. Once thought to be the mostbeautiful Hotel in all of Nevada. Although it has undergone some changes from those who would like to have re-opened it as a gambling establishment, it is now well known as one of the most haunted buildings in America. When Shasta Supernatural Investigators first examined it, we were informed that the current owner would not let anyone inside... especially |
"Ghost Hunters" However, we did get rather interesting readings from our EMF meters and a few good pictures of its interior. In these pictures, you can see some energy fog and light energy orbs in the area of the east wing. Can you see the face in the picture to the left ? It is centered just a few feet from the camera...in the doorway to the hallway. |
Many believe that one can only take pictures of Spirit Phenomena in the hours of early evening or at dark of night. However, these pictures are evidence that Spirits are not afraid to manifest in daylight hours. Nor are they harmed by the Daytime energies in any way. |
The east wing was the place we found most interesting. I detected a strong feeling of electric-like energy, accompanied by a depressed emotion as I stood near the wall. My associate, Joan Chaffee, got a temporary reading from her EMF meter of 94.6 in that area just outside the wall of the east wing |

For those experienced in using EMF Meters |
they would know that a reading of 4.0 is quite significant to indicate Spirit Energy |
We continued to walk around the outside of the face of the building, and although we did detect other areas of energy, we found that our EMF meter, was soon inoperable. The Spirits in the area were absorbings so much energy that they caused our equipment to become powerless, thereby causing them to be of no use to us. However, upon leaving the town, the equipment again began to operate as normal. If you plan a tour of Goldfield in the future, please do visit the Glory Hole Gift Shop across the street from the Goldfield Hotel. Virginia Ridgeway, owner of this store, is very helpful and can give you information about the happenings within the Hotel. She is one of only a few that has been a personal witness to its activities. |
